The homemade falafel at this restaurant is better than any other I've ever tasted!
I used to order from Shawarma Station all the time for years. Me and my Roomate used to love it. However, the last two orders have been very disappointing. I ordered a large platter. It looks like it was slapped together in 10 seconds. Literally had no more than a quarter cup of rice, 6 pickles and a dash of lettuce. Barely any sauce either. The meat was okay, although still seems the serving size is not representative of a large platter. Also, they no longer serve a pita wrap with their platters although they used to come with one. It seems they’ve become careless about their customers over the last while. I will not be ordering from here again. You had my business for a long time, but now you’ve lost it. There are many other shawarma places in Calgary for much better value.
They are now temporarily closed. Lol it is probably a health violation. This is the place to go to if you want your stomach to get sick from their chicken. It is either rotten meat or something with the way they store it, because every time I 've gotten from here, it brings diarrhea. everytime. One time I simple asked for more garlic in the potatoes. The Arab man at the counter looked at me like I kicked him in the face. He looked so furious. He grabs a spoon and slaps a dollop of garlic in the box while glaring at me.One time, an Arab guy took my order, then I confirmed it to him, a and he legit yelled in my face YEaH I heard you . He was fat and sweaty, clearly being forced to work there by his parents. Anyway, I complained to the lady at the end at the cash. She was like I know he is rude. Then she goes to get mad at him in arabic, and he starts yelling at her. Bad business look.Anyway they are now closed, probably too many health violations.
I'll get straight to the point: the chicken and donair were underwhelming, the hummus was grainy, and the garlic sauce didn't taste like garlic, but more like butter and salt. The portions were small, even though I ordered the large size. This restaurant doesn't compare to others like Jerus Shawarma. I won't be returning due to the high prices and was disappointed after coming in with high hopes.
I recently started working in the area and have made it a mission to review a new restaurant every time I go out for lunch. Unfortunately, Shawarma Station left me disappointed. I ordered the large beef and chicken donair platter and was surprised to see how small it was. You could literally see the bottom of the container where the rice was placed. The food itself was mediocre at best, and the workers were rude and kept staring at me when I picked up my food. I will not be returning, that's for certain.
