The Schooners Pub is a tradition Pub with a great atmosphere. Pool tables, VLTs, wooden tables & chairs and a long bar are timeless. They have a good selection of Pub food and are known for their wings. The service was quick and friendly.
I live within walking distance of Schooners, which is convenient for a quick bite to eat or get together with friends of mine who live in the area. I always feel safe at Schooners whether I'm by myself or with a few of my girlfriends....More
A friendly atmosphere--sports Bar décor---lots of screens.Service was attentive. On Sunday---half priced wings, very delicious.Happy Hour from noon till 8:00PM.Big Boy burger is a hit! Very comprehensive food menu---great variety.VLT's are available. Free pool tables on Sunday.This establishment has been on location for over 25 years----andmaintains an above average reputation.Our favourite----halibut and chips!Recommended.
I really like the place, but the service needs to improve A LOT!!! At least for Wednesdays night. I have been living in the neighborhood for almost 7 years an I've at Schooner's several times, but last night my wife and a couple of friends went there and had a bad bad experience. We went there on a Wednesday night to show our friends the place given the fact that they recently moved to this area. The first impression that we all had was a very disrespectful waitress with dark hair passing by. The place was full and we tried to ask that waitress with black hair if it was possible for us to find a place and she answered in a very rude way that she was not able to help us and to look in a different area of the place. After that we tried to decide if we want to wait or go, and the same waitress with black hair passed by an pushed one of my friends just because she was on her way. After that we moved to a different area to try avoid being around that disrespectful waitress with black hair, and some nice ladies offer us ti seat and share their table, and guess what? The same waitress with black hair approached to the table (not on her area) and asked in a very bad way if we were causing problems, which I don't know how she got to that conclusion given the fact that the ladies sittingon the table were laughing with us. At that point we decided to go and my wife complained with a different waitress and told her what happened and how disappointed and upset we were. I have worked in customer service for several years and I always avoided to pass any frustration or stress to any of my customers. I hope that the owners and or the managers read this review and talk to their employees, so they can avoid this experience to happen to another customer, because as I mentioned at the beginning I really like the place and I will like to me and my friends keep going to it, but it will not keep happening if we are treated like that again.
I visited this restaurant on a Thursday with my brother, taking advantage of their $5 off burger special. I ordered the American Cheddar Burger with fries and added a Caesar salad on the side. It was delicious! I appreciated the thin fries, which I prefer. My brother chose the Big Boy Burger, and it looked fantastic too. The only strange thing was that they charged for soda refills, which might be standard nowadays. I hadn't been here in years, but I plan to return for sure!
