We also tried the Taro and Sans Rival cake to bring back to the office, and it was such a hit that people were asking for the restaurant's details. My colleagues expressed their intention to return with family and friends or to order takeout in the future. The service was excellent, too, especially since our server was the only one working in the restaurant while handling many dine-in and takeout orders. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!
The service was slow, and the food took even longer to arrive. To make matters worse, the waitress responded with sarcasm when we mentioned our lengthy wait for our first appetizer, which took over 40 minutes to arrive after we ordered. I would urge the owner to provide better training for the servers on being attentive and courteous to the customers who help support this small business. It's customers like us who contribute to your success and the local economy. I don't typically leave reviews like this, but the waitress's passive-aggressive attitude was striking. It's detrimental to your business.
The food was delicious and arrived promptly. The waitstaff were very helpful, friendly, and polite. You'll find excellent Filipino cuisine here, from the main dishes to the desserts.
The food here is delicious Filipino cuisine. This is my third visit, and I've sampled three different dishes: the sisig all-day breakfast (served without rice, just toast and hash browns that resemble tater tots), featuring shredded pork, sautéed mushrooms, diced green bell peppers, and fried onions; pork skewers accompanied by garlic rice; longsilog (a sweet and savory Filipino sausage) served with sunny-side-up eggs and garlic rice; and kwek-kwek (quail eggs coated in orange batter, served with a side of sweet chili sauce). It’s absolutely delightful for this Filipino transplant. The service is also very friendly!
I saw that the owner has responded, and I'd like to explain why I feel this experience was misleading. We visited the restaurant and ordered halo-halo to enjoy there, and I noticed that the portion sizes were much more generous compared to takeout. The balance of ingredients to shaved ice was also significantly better during our dine-in experience. Furthermore, being condescending towards a paying customer doesn’t enhance your credibility. I appreciate you mentioning inflation; I understand its implications. However, your response seemed more like a defensive critique than a recognition of my honest feedback. If you believe that a thin layer of ingredients topped mostly with shaved ice is acceptable, that's your choice as a business. However, reacting with disappointment and suggesting that we "practice kindness" when I simply shared my experience feels inappropriate. I hope this isn’t how you handle customer concerns every time a situation arises.
