Food was hot when it arrived. Recommend the Eggs Benedict. Was very delicious! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Traditional mix grill was also amazing. If you are hungry, you won't be after eating this. The bacon and eggs were cooked just right. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Phil's Restaurants:
The restaurant service is pleasant and comfortable but the vent in the guys bathroom is so gross,I guess phili's only hire's short height cleaning staff for their 17ave SE location, please note this is a rare treat to be in this end of Calgary,as I don't travel outside my living area much View all feedback.
I have only visited this restaurant a few times. I used to go to the one in Banff regularly until it was replaced by a Chinese food restaurant, which I thought was unnecessary. The hash browns are delicious and the eggs Benedict is good. The wait staff have always been friendly.
This restaurant has a nostalgic vibe, reminiscent of a diner from 30 years ago. Despite its dated feel, it is consistently busy due to its delicious, affordable, and straightforward menu. We noticed that we were some of the youngest customers in our late 20s, but we have been back twice because the food speaks for itself. If you are looking for a hearty and tasty breakfast without any frills, this is the place for you.
You can always count on getting a satisfying meal at Phil's. The restaurant has been a staple since my junior high days when there was a school across the street on Glenmore Avenue, and not much has changed since then. The menu has expanded slightly, but it's nice to see that Phil's has stayed true to its roots. It offers typical diner food, and the clientele mainly consists of older individuals and college students nursing hangovers, especially on weekend mornings. Despite this, the service is efficient and the food is hearty and delicious.
Always a great breakfast stop. A Calgary classic. Great service, friendly staff. There can be waits but that's what happens at good places. Get the chubby sausages. Yum! Family run and a better place to go to over the humpty and Denny's of the world. Nothing totally uniquely special, just honest good breakfast.
Quality and comfort!. I went here with my boyfriend this evening for the first time. It was dead inside, literally only one other table full in the entire restaurant. I was going to get a breakfast related meal but saw all the vegetarian dishes they offered and went with the roasted vegetable quesadilla. It had A LOT of fresh veggies in it and a good portion of cheese. It was very good and filling. Only complaint would be some of the veggies were chopped large and it was very hard to handle and fell apart as soon as you picked it up. Other than that very delicious. My boyfriend got eggs Benedict and said it was on par. The portions are good and price is fair. Very little wait time. Nice staff. I will go back in the near future and try something else as they have a large menu.
