However, the experience felt... read more I decided to try Oddburger after seeing their offer of a free meal for teachers during the strike—a nice gesture, or so I thought. However, the experience felt anything but appreciative. When I tried to redeem the offer, the staff insisted on seeing my ATA card. I didn’t have it with me, but I showed them multiple valid forms of identification: my current school ID, district email, and even my school-issued credit card. The staff member took a photo of my credit card and sent it to the manager, who then rejected my proof, saying only the ATA card counted. Keep in mind, that card only shows past teacher certification—not current employment—and I provided more relevant, up-to-date proof. Rather than being treated with respect, I was questioned as if I was trying to deceive them for a free sandwich. During an unpaid strike, this felt less like appreciation and more like an attack on my integrity. The whole situation was invasive, humiliating, and completely unacceptable. If Oddburger truly wants to support teachers, they should do so without suspicion or mistrust. I won’t be coming back. Disappointed doesn’t even begin to describe it. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
