Lazy Monkey, a Taiwanese restaurant popular among students, offers authentic food in a small, dated setting. The service is known to be lackluster, but the dishes like pineapple chicken and beef court are surprisingly delicious. The bubble teas, though not special, are satisfying. The fried chicken hearts and kidneys are a must-try. The jasmine green milk tea and Chinese snacks are favorites. The staff may lack experience, but the food quality makes up for it. Despite the simple interior, Lazy Monkey remains a popular spot for quick meals and bubble teas. The Taiwanese fried chicken and bubble teas are highly recommended.

Was User at Lazy Monkey a mag?
The Lazy Monkey is across from Sir Winston Churchill High School so as you may expect it is a hangout for teens during the week. The food is surprisingly good and if you are adventurous try the fried chicken hearts or kidneys. They come on a stick and are wonderful! The decor is dated retro and you can tell the interior has not been updated. It is very small with about 4-5 tables. The strength of this Lazy Monkey is... View all feedback.

What User dislikes about Lazy Monkey:
The place offer authentic Taiwanese style food. So food and beverage are good, but service sucks. Never refill your water and ask you if the food is ok. But I'm not surprise since looks like all the waiters are young kids. View all feedback.

I had a massive Taiwanese fried chicken craving over the weekend and some of my awesome foodie buddy's suggested @lazymonkeycafe. The chicken was fantastic, although the portions were smaller than expected and definitely a bit pricy. We paid about $16 for a plate of chicken tenders and a bubble tea. Will have to try their other food soon!

Opened quite late for a bubble tea joint that's not downtown. I recommend their actual bubble tea (not fruit smoothies, tea), their tea is brewed to an appropriate concentration, meaning you could actually taste the bitterness and other flavors of the tea, instead of just milk alone. You could also order without ice to increase the amount of drink you get. The fruit flavored ones are mostly made from powder, not fresh fruit ,which I dislike but I'm sure others don't mind .I haven't had a chance to try their food, but their milk teas are great.

I absolutely adored the dry ribs and fried chicken at this restaurant. I devoured them all the way to the last crumb - they were wonderfully salty and definitely not the healthiest choice, but totally worth it. The mango paradise bubble tea with tapioca was quite sweet, but incredibly refreshing. I also tried the no. 34 hot instant noodle soup, which was equally delicious. I will definitely be returning!

Having lived back in Hong Kong for several years, we have high expectations when it comes to bubble tea! We were so happy to have this place recommended to us by a few friends because finally, we had a place to go to for drinks and great Taiwanese snacks!. The bubble tea here is generally great and to be honest I am very loyal to my milk green tea-half sweet bubble teas so I can’t really comment on their range of offerings. However, I will say that I love their snack selection here. A few favourites are their Taiwanese fried chicken 鹽酥雞 and fried chicken hearts. The Taiwanese chicken tastes just like something that we would’ve eaten in Hong Kong in a cafe, great crisp and just the right amount of seasoning. The chicken hearts, well I just really like it because it brings back memories from when I was younger and used to eat these all the time. Plus honestly, where else could I get this in Calgary?!
