La Viena - Calgary
La Viena
Description
La Viena offers a mixed experience, with some diners unhappy with missing reservations and under-seasoned food, while others praise the homemade pasta and friendly service from Annie and Marlene. The decor is a mix of opinions, with some preferring the spaciousness and seating, while others miss the old location. Overall, the restaurant impresses with its authentic Italian dishes, homemade desserts, and reasonable prices. Pasta Tuesdays are a hit, and Annie's warmth and knowledge add to the dining experience. While there are some inconsistencies, La Viena is worth a visit for those seeking a taste of classic Italian home cooking.

Absolutely amazing place. My first time going so I decided to get the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken since it’s one of my favourite pasta dishes and was blown away by the quality in every one of my senses. I’ll definitely be backKid-friendliness: there’s lots of pretty lights and interesting decorations. No loud music to disturb babies or childrenParking: I’d say there’s a good 16 spots, could even be moreWheelchair accessibility: The door inside is on the floor, so there’s no problem getting in no matter your physical abilityDietary restrictions: There’s many many different types of dishes. Vegetarian, pasta, fish, chicken, etc. very vast
We had an unforgettable time here as we finally found an AUTHENTIC Italian place!! The lobster bisque was full of ingredients with a rich cream base. Pasta was all handmade, which is a surprise compared to the prices. Rich flavors for pasta dishes and fresh salads. Also, they provide homemade desserts too, which was well-balanced. Last but not least, Annie (server/owner) was such a sweet lady. She was friendly, caring, and knowledgeable, which made our day!! We will definitely come back!!
They have amazing pasta! The server that served us lacked attention to detail but other than that, the food was great. Linguini alla dolce is a new fave!
Although I can't give it a 5 star rating as we had to wait a long time for our order to be taken in spite of there only being 2 tables, it is still one of our favourite places for family dinners. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–40
Service was bare minimum. Decor is incredibly outdated and drab. Food wasn’t memorable or noteworthy, merely edible and filling. The complementary bread rolls were the best part of our visit. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: $40–50 Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot
