The Gyoza here is the best in town. Last night I tried for the first time the tempura scallops in orange sauce dish. It was very tasty. The service here is very good. The sushi is very fresh and always tastes great. This place is hard to beat when it comes to good food! View all feedback.
What Crystal dubeau doesn't like about Kabuku:
Used to enjoy this place but my last visit was a disappointment that I'm not sure I'll be back. Was seated at a table that was just cleaned and it smelt off, like they used an old damp towel to wipe the table. Then waited half an hour for our food to come (instead of giving us the nigiri and aburi sushi first) all at once with an item missing. Waitress didn't bother to check up on us at all. Rice was a bit dry and fa... View all feedback.
My boyfriend and I always drive past this place so we decided to try it out a couple days ago. Absolutely LOVED the beef tataki it was soooo delicious. Both rolls we ordered were delicious (the rice they use is a blend with brown rice, that caught us off guard), as well as the shrimp tempura. Strongly disliked the gyozas we ordered they left an awful after taste! <br/ <br/ Service was fantastic although compared to other Japanese restaurants this one was much more expensive.
I quite enjoyed lunch here today. I had a mixed tempura, which was very nice. Very large and tasty mushrooms, excellent jams that were much larger than expected, perfectly done squid and large shrimp. The lady had the Yam Yam sushi, which she really enjoyed. I had a taste too, and it was very good. Service was excellent, in the Japanese style. Everything was right. There's no doubt we will be back. Parking: 4/5. Service: 5/5. Presentation: 4/5. Good food, great service! We ordered something we didn't like and the chef took it off the bill. It's a fairly small place and can get a bit noisy, but overall a good spot.
The service was friendly, attentive, and quick. Everyone pitched in to ensure a great experience. We started with miso soup, which initially seemed pricey at $4.50 but turned out to be a generous portion and the best I've ever had, complete with mushrooms. For sushi, we ordered creamy scallop nigiri, avocado nigiri, the kamikaze roll, and the volcano roll (recommended by a previous reviewer). The avocado was incredibly fresh and melted in our mouths. The scallops were perfectly prepared without being overly mayo-heavy or fishy. The kamikaze roll had a satisfying crunch and delightful sashimi on top. My favorite was the volcano roll, with its spicy and creamy sauce. The combination of tempura calamari and fatty tuna was exceptional. While slightly pricier than other options, the quality and taste made it worth the cost. It felt like enjoying top-notch Vancouver sushi in Calgary.
Always wonderful!!! The owner knows us and it's always nice to see him and gives us a big hug when we come in! My son and I would go every week when we lived in Aspen. We made a special trip in from out of town since we have moved and wasn't disappointed!! Always great sushi and great staff!
