Gaucho Brazilian Barbecue is located conveniently on busy Macleod Trail. Gaucho means cowboy and refers to our chef and owner Edmilson Rodrigues. Ede comes from the land of the Gaucho in the south of Brazil and has spent a lifetime introducing his food and culture to his guests. In our restaurant we feature a style of dining made famous in Brazil called, 'Rodizio'. Rodizio dining is like nothing you’ve tried before. To do it properly, budget an evening – or at least a few hours – and come hungry! Your barbecue chef of the evening will come around with massive churrasco style skewers, each with a tender cut of the day. Meat will be sliced straight to your plate, and it won’t stop till your table turns its card over to display the red side. To compliment your barbecue we feature hot and cold side dishes on our side bar. Our side bar is always changing to assure that our food is fresh and in season. Staples on the side bar include feijoada, the national dish of Gaucho Brazilian Barbecue and bocconcini cheese made fresh weekly by local craftsmen. We recommend you try one of our traditional cocktails to 'open your stomach' as Brazilians say! Remember to leave room for dessert like our traditional milk flan or the famous Barbecue Pineapple served on coconut ice cream and topped with guava sauce we call it the 'Crowned King'! Gaucho has something for everyone! Come taste the experience!.

We have eaten in other Brazilian barbecue restaurants and for the $65 price per person, gauchos fell far behind the real experience. we have eaten in rio and sao paulo in Brazil, so know what to expect. also in calgary, we enjoyed very...Bolaros for a lower price, better quality of eating and service. we found the alcoholic drinks watered down below, were disappointed, there was no salate or seafood bar and were limited to the items on the menu. the flesh was good, but well seasoned. our grandson was the most disappointed when he had several Brazilian dinners and he was unhappy that we continued to get after objects like the roasted ananas (which was not) and never got his ribs. he was happy with the choros. our party of 6 cannot really recommend this restaurant.
I was in calgary for a conference. the conference was on Saturday at 12 noon and my flight was not until Sunday. I was able to connect with three friends and we met for dinner. we had no reservation and the friendly hostess. was able to find a table for us. we were served our drinks and the server explained that it was like a buffet, but they would serve the meat at the table. it was a very comfortable atmosphere. the buffet selection was very nice, especially the muscheln in cream sauce, sautéed mushrooms, chimichira sauce and so much more. then the server can be roasted to our table with great spears of different meats that had been roasted over an open flame. with salt and pfeffer spiced the delicate meat from the spits directly on our dishes. the selection of the various cuts of the bark meat and other meats left us more than satisfied. we finished the roasted pineapple. that is the dream of a carnivore. I recommend a visit here, but go hungry and they will enjoy.
We went there on 10th october to the birthday of my twin daughter. phenomenal experience. top notch eat, atmosphere and server. excellent service by thalia and all their bbq chefs/servers. has been here several times, and every time is an amazing experience all around. the food is exceptional!. very delicious and well prepared. I love the service and the BBQ servers are so friendly and always cares about providing the best quality! I highly recommend this place. eating and service is always excellent. in any case a life customer!
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Our group, consisting of doctors and pharmacists, had an incredibly disappointing experience with the customer service at this restaurant.
