We like this restaurant and frequently go or order in from CIBO. The service is usually excellent. The last times we had the same server who seems to lack attention to simple things I wonât even ask for attention to details. For example offering a glass when I order a beer, placing a lime in the corona (other servers have done soâ¦.I was surprised when this server didnât do that). The server came to ask if we we... If you love Italian food, this restaurant in Calgary is a must-try. The culinary artistry is evident in every dish - from the delicious pizza to the delectable seafood and heavenly desserts. The chefs clearly have a passion for their craft. I have dined here multiple times and have never been disappointed.
I had a great experience at this restaurant with delicious pasta and pizza at a reasonable price. I heard that they offer even cheaper prices during happy hour, which is every day of the week. My favorite dishes were the vongole and the pizza. We also ordered the cauliflower appetizer (not pictured) and I felt like it was trying too hard to mimic a chicken wing.
My husband and I went on a Sunday date night and were very disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. The tables seemed dirty and the overall vibe of the restaurant was outdated and in need of a thorough cleaning. Despite this, we can handle a rustic atmosphere. However, several things went wrong during our visit. Our cutlery was dirty, and when we asked for new cutlery (specifically a spoon for pasta), it was also dirty. Additionally, I ordered pizza but was brought a pasta dish instead. The waiter questioned if I had made a mistake in my order, and then asked if I wanted the pasta dish to be fired or not. Feeling pressured and not wanting to waste food, I ended up keeping the pasta. I had hoped that they would compensate for the mistake by offering to cover the cost of the pasta and drinks, but unfortunately, we were still charged full price. My husband ended up eating my dinner reluctantly to avoid wasting food. If the mistake had been corrected immediately or if we were not charged for the incorrect dish, I might have considered returning. However, the lack of accountability and customer service has now deterred us from coming back. Spending $80 and not receiving what we ordered is unacceptable. This is not the kind of service and business operation that I would expect.
The food was (as always) very good. Service was poor. The server was available and spoke to other servers or friends who had come. It was a slow night to be sure, and we just think that it must be new, as we had to blur it over and over again. Water came fast and she asked how the food was. Outside of this, everything else was somewhat disappointing on the service side.
Cibo is our go to place for a dinner out. Great food and great service at reasonable prices. Pizza is particularly good not soggy like other places when you get it home from take out. It is not on the 'cool ' list for Calgary restaurants and is a little out of the way which makes space often available on weekend nights when you can 't get in to more bougie places.
