CHARCUT Roast House - Calgary

The lunch special is great value for your money. It varies in sandwich options but comes with soup or salad and they send you on your way with a brown bag that includes 2 freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.

Without a reservation I was quickly seated Service was friendly and responsive. All specials were clearly explained I opted for the rigatoni carbonara. Clearly the pasta was prepared ready for dinner service as it was too thick of a noodle to be served that quick. Taste and texture were fantastic. The list lighter options aren't meant to be available. Think of it as a modern steak house in a boutique hotel, representing Alberta well. As for those complaining about price you must be visiting. Calgary has been that way for as long as I can remember.

Didn't know the tower needed reservations and at 2p was starving. Just across the street and good reviews thought would try. Prime rib is more of a French dip but the focaccia was FAB. They can do without the mustard and use more pepper and less salt in the dip but the fries were great. Tomato ham was great but could only do a small amount as all do rich and sweet but would life to have it for cooking at home.

Great steak, chicken, wine, beer, service, location, decor. Alberta beef is king. Some great appetizers including oysters. Lots to share with friends.
