Charbar - Calgary
Charbar
Description
Charbar is located in East Village within the historical Simmons Building along the Bow River. Executive chef Jessica Pelland, along with co-owners and Top Chef chefs Connie DeSousa and John Jackson, lead the way in creating a collaborative and communal dining destination. Partnering with Sidewalk Citizen Bakery and Phil Sebastian Coffee Roasters, this restaurant offers cuts of ultra-dry aged Alberta beef and ocean wise seafood at a raw bar. The open air riverfront patios provide stunning views of the Bow River, while the custom-made Argentine wood-fired grill highlights the art of asado, drawing culinary inspiration from Spain and Italy.

Feedback
Steak cooked incorrectly, fly served in drink, and incorrect sides brought out.
There was wedding reception going on upstairs so the noise was a little high. I didn’t mind. The service staff is exceptional and the food was phenomenal. The porter house is worth every penny.
I personally felt my steak was over cooked for medium rare and I didn’t care for the puffed wild rice on the squash. The empanadas and butter hot sauce were amazing and we really enjoyed our cocktails. My husband loved his steak.
The whole crew was terrific service. Hosting station to servers(Natasha) and kitchen staff. Took care of allergies, wonderful suggestions and knowledge of menu, including wines was great. Charred Napa Cabbage salad, Tableside Ceviche Mixto(Jessica made it thx), Beef Butcher Steak New York Strip. Chimichurri sauce fantastic. We were watching many other tables and it seemed like full enjoyment from them too. Give this place a try. I think you'll come back again and again.
