Our son and daughter-in-law recommended that we eat here (with them) and we were not disappointed. Our daughter-in-law had the Souvlaki Chicken Filet; our son that the Zeus Chicken; my wife had the Slow Cooked Leg of Lamb and I had the Moussaka. We all split a Saganaki starter. (And drinks, of course). Everything was good. View all feedback.
What BikerBruceCalgary doesn't like about Broken Plate:
We thought we would go back to an old favourite. The Broken Plate in Willowpark. Our server was good but over bearing. I like attentive but over zealous is not necessary. We had drinks. I ordered an Old Fashioned. Way too sweet. The wine with dinner was expensive. $18 for a 9 oz. glass of house red??? I had Zeus Chicken. Chicken was over salted, 2 carrots, 2 broccoli, 5 pieces of Lemon Potatoes. Not much lemon flavou... View all feedback.
Five of us went out for Greek food to celebrate my son's 21st birthday and we really enjoyed ourselves! We had beer $7.50/$8.00), ginger beer $6.00) and pop $3.25) and two orders of Saganaki with grilled pita and flambeed table side $16.50 ea) so delicious! For our mains, we had Gemelli Chicken Alfredo $23), Lamb Souvlaki $30) and Ribs Fries Stack $19). I have to say that everything was magnificent and very good portions. The staff brought a complimentary Baklava cheesecake with a sparkler for the birthday boy! Also, very good. I definitely recommend the Broken Plate the service is attentive, the washrooms are clean as is the restaurant and the food really, really good!
My wife and I are in Calgary visiting family. We planed on taking the family out for dinner on a Sunday evening and selected a restaurant to dine at. We arrived around 6:00 pm only to find out that this particular restaurant is closed on Sundays. We looked up nearby restaurants and found the Broken Plate and we were so happy we did. There were 6 adults and one 4 year old. We walked in and I noticed the restaurant was already busy and knew seating seven people without reservations was not going to be easy. Kate greeted us at the door and said to give her a minute she would see what she could do. A few minutes later we were seated at a nice table and she was going to be our server. My 4 year old niece was really hungry so Kate took her order first and had her bowl of pasta out before the adults ordered. That was so appreciated as the little one ate while we placed orders for appetizers and our main course. The food was fabulous! Each one of us ordered a different dish and everyone loved their meals. Even though the restaurant was extremely busy, we were able to chat at the table without having to yell at each other. Our server Kate was excellent. She was very attentive, professional and extremely pleasant. Dessert was really yummy as well. We were so glad we found the Broken Plate as everyone had a fabulous evening. We will certainly be back on our next trip back to Calgary.
Not a foodie but visited this restaurant years ago and just went back. Did not disappoint. The food was amazing and the service was even better.

Not much lemon flavour. My wife ordered Lobster ravioli. There might have been 7 on the plate. It was less than stellar. The pitas and dips we’re a good starter. But the rest of the meal was average at best. If we are going to spend $150 for dinner, I want it to be better than what I can make at home.
This was an amzing place until tonight. The calamari was reminiscent of cut up old bicycle tire: tough, tasteless, and just unpalatable. The salad was drenched in vinaigrette that overpowered everything else on the plate. It took for ever to get the food and one would hope that it was going to be geeatvas always. I was truly disappointed as we used to love this place.
