I ordered the duck confit and found... read more The restaurant wasn't very busy but I felt that the service was a bit slow, mostly due to a large table occupying the staff. I ordered the duck confit and found it to be very flavorful, although slightly tough. My husband went for the short ribs, which were tender but lacking in taste. I thought they were just average, but the mashed potatoes were delicious. I enjoyed a glass of white wine, which was excellent. The dessert, however, missed the mark. The apples were not sweet or tart, and the crisps seemed overcooked and dry. Our server kindly removed it from our bill. Despite this, we would still return to this restaurant as it has been a favorite for special dates for a long time.

The meat was tender and the skin was crispy. It was well seasoned, with just the right amount of salt. I also had the soup of the day, which was a carrot soup with a hint of ginger and cilantro. It was amazing!

The service was excellent, our server was knowl... read more I recently visited Avec Bistro during Big Taste Calgary and I was thoroughly impressed with the food and drinks. The service was excellent, our server was knowledgeable, kind, and patient. Although I was unable to explore their full menu due to the set menu for the event, I still highly recommend dining here for a date or business meeting. The ambiance is calming and classy, striking a perfect balance between formal and relaxed. I would have given it 5 stars if I had the chance to try more of their offerings.
