We went into this town centre pub purely on spec as we needed somewhere to eat quickly and near Piece Hall. We were treated like royalty we were the only diners and we had total attention from the chef /owner. We had a lovely generous sized prawn cocktail followed by scampi and chips with salad. What jamie boyle doesn't like about The Union Cross Halifax:
I stumbled upon The Union Cross, a charming pub, during a night shift when it was open early before 11am - what a blessing! I ended up spending a few hours there that day, and have since returned many times over the years. I appreciate the rich history of the place, and the fact that they serve a good pint of Guinness. Its convenient location near the bus station makes it a great landmark in Halifax. View all feedback.
Nice pub. renter and renter very friendly and understanding especially with my adhs cousin who comes with me and my onkel.
I visited the restaurant today after hearing great things about their Sunday Lunch. It definitely lived up to the hype. Despite my bad hayfever, I couldn't fully appreciate the meal but I will definitely be back. I ordered the roast pork and received two thick cuts that were cooked perfectly, slicing through them was like cutting through butter. It was absolutely delicious.
Four of us went to this restaurant for Sunday roast and we were blown away by the amazing beef, vegetables, roast potatoes, and plentiful portions. The gravy was especially delicious. The staff were friendly and we would highly recommend this place.
Had a great Sunday lunch. Staff very attentive and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit. Nice clean pub.
