Couldn’t decide what to eat so had each one of the bar snacks absolutely lovely each dish was and individual flavour experience and all at fab prices, like lovely big plates of tapaz! Go well with a bear as a snack too. Good service and plenty of others eating too, nice atmosphere and very accommodating.
This charming pub in Cragg Vale offers a great selection of food options. I ordered the steak and ale pie, which was flavorful but a bit heavy on the ale, overpowering the dish. It was served with chips and mushy peas, with the chips being bland. The pie was more of a pot pie, served in a dish with a pasty lid. Despite this, I would not let one visit deter me from returning. The service was excellent, with friendly and prompt service. I would happily return to try other dishes on the menu.
The new management have revitalised “The Hinch” with an excellent menu range, catering for the Vegetarian and Gluten free persuasion. With very generous portions, you certainly won’t leave hungry. The Fish and Chips were very good and the Honey Glazed Pork Belly, smoked in house was exceptional. Pricing is reasonable with a Sunday meal for 4 with starters and a round of drinks at circa £25 a head. Openly catering for Walkers and dogs, making for a lovely enjoyable scenic lunch out.
I organized a group lunch for 23 people but 27 showed up. Despite the changes in menu choices, the service, food, and attentiveness of the staff were excellent. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great time. Special thanks to Keri, Liane, Sean, and the entire team for making it a memorable experience.
Very pleasant staff , friendly and helpful . The food was delicious especially the “special” pork belly with two veg and our friends enjoyed their fish dishes haddock and chips and a tasty trout dish . There was a good wine list as well. On the minus side, we had to wait 35 minutes for our main course and since we hadn’t ordered a starter, we were a bit annoyed. Three of us ordered dessert; the winner was the strawberry Eton mess.
