Contribute FeedbackAt this restaurant, the fish and chips have garnered mixed reviews. While some guests appreciate the quality of the food, particularly the batter and mushy peas, others have expressed frustration with service issues and inconsistent portion sizes. Long wait times and miscommunication about availability have been common complaints. Many patrons desire improved employee interactions and packaging solutions for takeout orders. Despite these concerns, there are positive remarks about the outdoor dining experience and an overall improvement in food quality over the past few years. If the establishment addresses these challenges, it could regain its reputation as a go-to for fish lovers.
The chips were still hard, there was hardly any food, and it cost £13.50! The chip butty was £3.50 and only had about 10 chips in it. Overall, it was a huge disappointment.
The fish and chips at this restaurant are pretty good, but no matter what time you go – whether it's for lunch or dinner – they never seem to have the fish that you want. You end up waiting in line for 5 minutes after being told it will only be a 2-minute wait. The fish sits under the heat lamp for too long, turning oily and brown. This has been a consistent issue every time I have visited, so I won't be returning. The restaurant needs to improve their service.
Hi. I use New Lodge at least once a week so i consider myself a good customer. Always get the 'Fish butty with few chips ' option. Recently seems that the fish is made up of two very thin pieces stuck together. This is a shame as fish on previous visits has been very nice. Hope this is a short-term problem. Batter and chips are very nice. Mushy peas and curry sauce very nice. Staff are ok too. One suggestion if i may? Perhaps they could maybe leave the fish a minute to drain when it comes out the fryer.
There needs to be better staff behind the counter don’t really come across and they know what they are doing. The fish sticks to the paper think about putting it in different packaging. It used to be really good here the owner needs to go back to basics and have a look at the issues.
First off the girls, 3 of them, were lovely and friendly, smiling and patient. We ordered fish and chips, small fish and chips, for grand daughter and a fish butty plus mushy peas. We sat outside on the tables and it was like being on holiday, delicious fish and chips and my daughter demolished her fish butty. Complete opposite to Ben H reveiew, we all enjoyed the food and would come again.
