My wife and I had a lovely time here. We've been here twice so far and have agreed it's our favorite sit down restaurant in town. The first time the wait was a little long (but we arrived to a full restaurant, so it's wasn't their fault), but thesecond time we got there early so our orders flew out of the kitchen. The dining room is stylish and the view of the green andthe river are quite pleasant. The front of house staff are prompt, courteous, and sharp. We got some excellent recommendationson our drinks, which paired well with our meal, and they checked regularly to make sure we had everything we needed (but not toomuch, you know? Just that nice middle ground were I feel helped, but not pestered). The food, oh man, the food. Talk aboutbringing your A game each and every time. The kitchen staff really have it dialed in. The first time my steak was just this sideof perfect, and my wife couldn't talk for a few minutes with her seafood dish. This last time we went a bit simpler with someburgers, fries, and a pretzel to split (I did a lot of labor, I can justify pigging out). Fries: golden crispy and soft inside.Burgers: juicy and full of flavor. Pretzel: so good, we intend to come back just to get another pretzel. I hope you do try thisplace. I mean, try them all, but definitely try this place.
Mike provided excellent service, and the seafood was absolutely delicious. While it was a straightforward experience, the quality of the flavors was top-notch. The lobster chowder and the daily special of stuffed haddock were outstanding!
The staff at Riverview are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. My boyfriend and I visited for dinner, and I can honestly say that it was the best shepherd's pie (referred to as cottage pie on the menu) I’ve ever tasted. Even though they were about to close, they happily prepared it for me anyway. That’s what I call quality service! The prices are reasonable, and the food and drinks are delicious. I highly recommend this place.
What a treat this place turned out to be. I'm not only referring to the food either. The family who own it are perfect for this business, they truly are. The food was the best I had during my entire visit to Maine. My sister and I both had the fox and hensalad, fish and onion rings, with the world's best coleslaw. I will deny that comment if asked by my mom, but honestly theirs isbetter than hers. I'm 52 and never have I eaten slaw that is better than hers. Seldom have I had any that was anywhere near asgood. We ate in the dining room instead of the pub because we prefer the quiet. I think I would have definitely enjoyed the pubif I hadn't given up alcohol years ago. I hope to go back up to Maine next year and if I do I will definitely be stopping by toget more slaw. The next time I'm going to buy it but the gallon lol.
