Description

Bagus Cafe offers a mix of reviews from diners who had different experiences. Some found the food to be average, with one visitor comparing it to their travels in Bali. Others enjoyed the authentic Indonesian flavors and the hospitality of the owner, who went above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The restaurant itself is described as unassuming, with a beachside café vibe. Despite some mixed feedback on food quality and pricing, Bagus Cafe seems to have its loyal fans who appreciate the tasty dishes at a reasonable price.

Tl;dr:, Delicious and highly affordableMalay cooking and good Indonesian food are surprisingly difficult to come by in Brisbane, so I was delighted to discover Bagus in Cairns. This is Indonesian warung-style food, and while the menu is not very big, what is there is done well. The Malaysian in me was happy, the spice lover in the boyfriend was happy, plus the boss is one of the most cheerful people I'd met.My only complaint is that the sambal isn't spicy enough, but looking around me at the number of people that have left it alone, I can understand why the heat was tuned down.

Quite an unassuming little restaurant with a lovely man operating the front of house. The food was delicious and I would recommend this resturant to anyone and everyone

Simply amazing simple food but amazing. Nasi goreng was delicious. Sate is unlike any other I've ever had in a fabulous way! Beef rendang was great. Serving sizes aren't huge but leave you very satisfied. Lovely spot for a casual lunch or dinner, or take away. I see that they also do western food but when the Indonesian selection is so fantastic why settle for another sandwich or burger!

Very friendly owners/staff with traditional menu along with some western style to cater for all family members. Highly recommend as a regular place to eat....
