This is a very good restaurant. My slow cooked pork was tender and full of wonderful flavour. Pasta was also excellent and we were recommended an interesting local wine which we enjoyed. Lovely venue and good service.
What a gem of a spot!! Gracious service and elevated twists on traditional Tuscan food. Visiting from NYC, I would have expected to pay three times what we were charged for the best meal we had on vacation. Exquisite dining room and during the summer, the seating is exclusively outdoors on the many patios so one can enjoy the spectacular views. Auguri!!!
We’ve come here from Australia on our yearly trip to Italy, and we found this gem. The location used to be an ancoent mill and now it’s smartly updated with a design touch without losing the charm of his heritage. We are both vegetarians and the chef offered to cook a tailored menu for us to accomodate. There’s also an excellent organic wine list to pair with your food. Highly recommended, we’ll definetely come back!
We were staying further up the mountain within walking distance, but a very steep climb! Our Airbnb host recommended this place, with very good reason. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. We were in an outside area with a large fabric roof suspended over 6 tables quite effective. Possibly the most expensive meal in our three week tour of the country, but well worth it.
First evening in Tuscany, dropped our cases at our accommodation in Calci and drove north and east, up a steep, winding road and into the high hills of Mt Pisano. After 30 minutes of gorgeous scenery and beautiful views, we descended into the lovely village of Buti and came across i Maggi. What a find! Hidden around the back of the main piazza. We walked in long before they were due to open but they greeted us warmly, set up a table for us and brought us drinks while they were getting the place ready. Great meal, brilliant menu, service outstanding, staff were warm, friendly and relaxed. Good atmosphere. Very popular with the locals. So it got busy very quickly. There were four of us and I think we only got a table because they let us sneak in early. So we probably got lucky. I would guess it would be wise to book, It was packed by the time we left. Thanks i Maggi for a brilliant first night in Tuscany.
