Description

The Same Yet has long been a beloved local spot, originally serving farmers and labourers who sought a well-earned pint after a hard day’s work. The pub’s story is as charming as its name: once known as The Star Inn, it was refurbished, and when asked for its new name, the response was “the same yet,” indicating it was still the same inn. To everyone’s surprise, the signwriters painted “The Same Yet” in bright gold lettering, and given the cost to change it, the name stayed—and remains to this day. Since standing proudly here since 1800, The Same Yet has faithfully served its community under the care of dedicated landladies, now Mrs Jowett, continuing a tradition of warmth and welcome that defines this historic pub.
