Usha - Burnley
Usha
Description
The Usher, a prominent Indian restaurant on the outskirts of town, presents a range of dining experiences that visitors find hard to agree on. While some patrons celebrate the spacious setting, extensive menu, and commendable service, others lament the decline in food quality and consistency. Diners have reported issues ranging from bland, watery curries to orders being forgotten, such as naan bread. Despite cleanliness and ample parking being noted positives, there are concerns about poor customer service responses to feedback. Ultimately, while some cherish the restaurant's offerings, others feel a journey to alternative curry destinations may be necessary.

What a wonderful dining experience! We usually order takeout from Usha Express, but decided to try their Sunday buffet and we were blown away. We were so full afterwards, we could hardly move!
This Indian restaurant is one of the best I have ever been to. The dishes are full of flavor and every bite is delicious. I give this place a perfect 10 out of 10 and compliments to the chef for their excellent work!
We visit the Usha regularly especially with our daughter her husband. We have never had a bad meal and Wednesday night buffet is very good, you don't have to go up and help yourself, the usual popadums and dips etc are served then a selection of starters, followed by your choice of mains which are all excellent, coffee is included, it's terrific value for money and is always busy. We will be booking tables for a party in May and know we can expect the same excellent friendly service which we always get. Usually, party's are set up in the conservatory which is ideal for this. The restaurant has booths as well as tables set out and there's a small waiting area where pre-dinner drinks are served. The wine list is good so it's the ideal place for a meal or a celebration, the decor is very nice and the whole restaurant is clean and welcoming. There is a large car park with steps down to the restaurant so it's convenient and the takeaway menu is vast and of the same quality as the restaurant.
My wife and myself ate at The Usher last night. We were both left feeling disappointed with the food. We usually go out of town for a curry for this reason. I don't believe there is a decent curry house in Burnley or the surrounding area. If you want a fine curry then you are going to have to spread your wings and go to Manchester, Bradford or Huddersfield etc. I had a chicken tandoori and a Rogan Josh, my two favourite dishes and both were poor. I just ate the meat from my main meal and left the rest. My wife had a starter she was happy with, but her main meal wasn't good chicken masala). No one at any time asked us if our meals were ok.
