What User doesn't like about The Ram Inn:
Came for a meal after my husband spotted the Ram whilst working. Items listed on the website were not on the menu when you got there (pork belly and lamb). Ordered starters and mains. The gyoza starter were over-microwaved; simultaneously cold and with an overcooked...hard shell, also missing sesame. Halfway through our starters our mains arrived We felt rushed and had to eat them. Fries were unseasoned. What should... View all feedback.
Came for fish and chips with the Mrs. Really good portion and well worth what we paid. Will be coming back. Would recommend
Asked at the Bar on entering what’s what, young guy behind the bar said find a seat and we’ll come and take your drinks order. So we sat and waited for probably 10 minutes then went to the bar and the same guy then said oh no you order here at the bar. Ordered some drinks and 2 meals bar guy said he’d bring them over after 5 minutes he came over and said we have no Peroni so I ordered Meretti, which he brought over along with a glass of lemonade ordered with no ice but had ice in!. Food arrived sausage and mash and peas and a steak and ale pie with chips and veg. Veg was tasteless and gravy was just bistro gravy sausage and mash was ok with the same bistro gravy. Young staff serving and not much idea asking if everything was ok when we hadn’t had anything yet? £18 for pie and £17 for sausage we won’t be rushing back!
We visited today for a family dinner. We haven't been in a while but we loved this pub and have been so many times over the years. What a disappointment it was. My parents and hubby had the beef roast and all said the beef was tough and over cooked. I had the potato skins and although I'd asked for it as a main I was disappointed to see it was only 1 potato cut in two. It was OK though. We decided to have puddings, I ordered the fondant and my hubby and dad ordered the toffee cheesecake. There was nothing fondant about my dessert. It was just sponge with some caramel sauce and ice cream on the side. When my dad went to pay it was complete chaos. Apparently there was only 1 person who could work the tills which went down, there was no other staff to help with the queue so the poor guy was running himself ragged, trying to deal with all the phone calls, sort payments and take orders. Once he mentioned the kitchen had run out of roasts by 4.30pm on a sunday the queue dwindled and people left to find dinner elsewhere. The waiting staff were pleasant enough but the quality of the food was poor at best. The poor guy asked my dad how everything had been so when my dad told him how tough the beef was and what a disappointing experience it had been there wasn't really anything he could say as there were still people queueing. What has happened to the lovely food you could select and enjoy here. You need to hire more staff as it is completely unfair to expect one person to be able to cope with everything on their own. To say we felt disappointed is an understatement. We will not be coming back here until thi gs have changed. This was not the lovely experience we were expecting. Sort it out please!!!
Went for a drink and to eat here last week. The outside area is lovely with a great view. Both with the food and from service , the people that work there , you can tell they care about the people they are serving.
We heard new people had taken over so decided to try it, ordered drinks intending to have food but it was so cold we all kept our coats even though most was drinking coffee, we didn’t stay for food it was that cold
