Illuminati - Burnley

We were excited to visit this restaurant due to its many positive reviews, but unfortunately we were disappointed. Our table was reserved for 6 people and we ordered 2 mixed kebabs for £10 each. One kebab was chicken and the other was steak. However, when they arrived, the chicken kebab was undercooked and the steak was cold with nearly raw mushrooms and peppers. The staff apologized and took our meals back to the kitchen. When the food returned, it was cooked properly, but the chips were overcooked and seemed leftover from the previous day. Additionally, there was no sauce on the kebabs, which we were not informed of until after our meal. The staff were apologetic and discounted the entire bill. We left the restaurant feeling disappointed. Unfortunately, we did not take any photos.

The first time when you eat here and not the last, eating is delicious and well cooked, the staff is very friendly and helpful and great choice of drinks:

Food very nice but cocktails let the experience down. I suggest that measurements in the cocktails are published on the menu. I was reluctant to order as what was actually in them wasn’t advertised. And I was disappointed as the cordial superceded the taste of any spirits! The hanging kebabs are worthy of a mention and the lovely staff there. Would I visit again, no. The menus needed changing as in dirty and sticky to the touch, not the choice.
