The set lunch menu was well designed to give choice and a full range of flavours, all three courses had their own character and were of top quality both in terms of presentation and flavour - and a a very reasonable 19,90 for 3 courses - the gardens are also worth spending time in View all feedback.
An interesting seasonal menu, a good selection of local wines and well cooked and presented dishes with excellent service. A great culinary experience.
The upper Rhine Valley gives France and Germany a lot of ground to grow the goodness of the earth: Veggies, Veal and Vineyards! In short, For me, this is the best place on earth that connects all the delicacies of my genes as Central Europe. And... so it can be described: The best of both worlds! Entrees, soups, salads from Aal on lenses, crispy crust bread, the phenomenal Schlumberger Riesling to go with him, lamp shelf right out of the sky on my plate... Just fabulous!
Known that the owner used to be a life timer in Michelin Star restaurant in Le St. Barnabe, we were keen to try out their taste menu of 7 courses. We arrived slightly late but were so fortunate that still able to order it (last order...time 8:30pm) every dish was truly amazing. My favorite was the foie gras starter and the duck main dish. The combination of different ingredients are in excellent harmony in each dish, and I really suggest to ask the head waiter for his recommendation of local wine, as the menu might get updated according to season. The service is very friendly and attentive, even if we arrived a bit late for the booking. The layout of the restaurant is modern and the front part of the Le St Barnabe hotel. Most of the customers are local which obviously speak for itself and if you stay in Murbach area, this place is a must for visit.

Very delicious food (the best during our 2 days in Alsace), very friendly service, nice terrace, enough space for children to move around outside during a longer lunch. As there was no restaurant open in Guebwiller (at sunday lunch time)!, we were very happy to find the St Barnabe on the way to the church of Murbach. We were able to order lunch even that we arrived quite late (around 2pm) and were very surprised by the exceptional quality of the food and the cooking. The interior of the restaurant is very cosy.
