Howling Rooster - Buffalo
Howling Rooster
Description
A popular Buffalo gem for brunch and breakfast, this neighborhood restaurant delights with flaky biscuits, standout potato pancakes, attentive servers and pleasant indoor/outdoor dining. The staff are accommodating to allergies and energetic service earns high marks, though peak days bring long waits and a very loud banquet room. Food quality can be uneven — some dishes praised while occasional items arrive greasy or undercooked — and small, pricey side portions drew criticism. Recommended for brunch lovers seeking lively atmosphere, but expect noise and variable value.

Food was ok. It was very expensive for what it was. Bread was fantastic, potato cakes were shredded potatoes and not what you would expect.
I absolutely adore this restaurant! The staff is incredibly friendly, and we enjoyed breakfast here twice—it was fantastic! They also have a lovely patio bar!
Brunch on Sunday takes on a whole different t meaning. This place is very popular and for good reason. Ordered the Benedict Arnold. The biscuit was flaky yet firm enough to stand up to the sausage gravy; which was not too salty, and had good flavor. The egg was poached perfectly. The sausage patty made for a different type of eggs Benedict. A very welcome change. The potato pancakes can't be passed up either. The double fry on them to make them crunch was perfect touch.
A beautiful gem in Buffalo! The food and service were outstanding. The atmosphere in the dining area, both indoors and outdoors, was lovely. I will definitely be returning. As for dietary restrictions, I have a shellfish allergy, and the waitress was incredibly accommodating.
