We were given a leaflet off the street for this restaurant and two nights later decided to try it . It is quite a big restaurant inside and is all brick on the walls and had locals in eating and watching football as La Boca...were playing. The tout' from the street brought us in and as we were eating he brought a number of other people so they must be on a decent commission . My husband chose the meal deal of steak and chips from the leaflet and pointed to it so the waiter knew what he wanted. I chose from the main menu. The waiter tried to sell us additional items and I had to point out that potatoes were already included as were the chips on my husband's meal. That was no problem and when the food came it was lovely and the steak piece was huge and perfectly cooked and both dishes were delicious . Wine and beer were also good and reasonably priced. However when the bill came we'd been charged for a different, more expensive steak. It had been good so we thought about just paying the extra but decided to challenge the waiter. He said my husband had had the bigger steak and pointed to it on the menu so we got out the leaflet and pointed to what the offer was and that was what we had ordered. After some discussion with the boss we paid the lower price but left a bigger tip because the meal was good . Maybe the waiters are told to push the extras but if you are aware of what might happen then it's not a problem and the steak was as good as in other more expensive restaurants.
I have been comming to Capataz from 2013 and have visted the place many times. The only dissaoointment I have come accross is sometimes the meals are too big ; Ha ha I am sure it is not a dissapointment at all. Great service ,...always great people and great dishes for very reasonable prices. Cheers
We went to the restaurant after walking. I saw some local reviews and decided to lunch. First impression was relatively good with the ambience. Beer jug for an honest price, but I found the rest a bit high compared to other great places. We ordered...a parrillla for 2. Unfortunately the meat was simply a rubber, could not even cut, much less chew. Before I left, I went to the bathroom and was horrified. You can find better food for a better price.
In our 3 weeks of visiting Buenos Aires we went here several times, the food and service are good. Interesting interior.
