The first time here. we stopped to cool and have a bite. the place had a nice relaxed atmosphere (as they would expect from a place called mr. willie). there is... read more The first time here. we stopped to cool and have a bite. the place had a nice relaxed atmosphere (as they would expect from a place called mr. willie). there is a large shaded area outside and several food tags. there are yard games and some table games if you want. they have a large selection of cocktails that are named for Texas musicians - think fowler, creager, koe, parker, etc. we ordered burgers from the grill menu. What I will say about the burger is the only negative thing I can say about the place. it was way too salty. I couldn't eat more than half. we mentioned it to the bar tender when we closed out, and were told that it was said before. next to the saltburger I enjoyed our visit. we will return and try one of the tags - perhaps the lobster risotto.

We order... read more I was really impressed by their extensive cocktail menu, which features drinks named after Texas musicians like Fowler, Creager, Koe, Parker, and more. We ordered burgers from the grill menu, but unfortunately, that’s where I had an issue. The burger was way too salty, so much so that I couldn’t finish more than half of it. When we told the bartender this while paying, she mentioned they had received similar feedback before. Aside from the overly salty burger, my overall experience was great. I’d definitely come back, possibly to try one of the food trailers—maybe the lobster risotto next time!

The music is fantastic, the drinks are excellent, and the atmosphere is just right... a true classic, just like Willie.
