Tuscono's - Buckner
Tuscono's
Description
In the charming downtown of Buckner, MO, this Italian restaurant offers a mixed dining experience. While some patrons rave about the friendly service and delicious dishes like chicken parmesan and eggplant parmesan, others lament the inconsistent food quality and microwave-like preparations. Highlights include a delightful peach tea and tasty complimentary bread, though a few find the ambiance a bit noisy. The restaurant shines with its reasonable prices and a wide variety of menu options, but customers caution potential diners to approach with tempered expectations. Overall, it holds potential for great meals, but reviews indicate a need for consistency.

The waitress was incredibly friendly, and my friend mentioned that the raspberry tea was the main reason she chose this place for her birthday celebration. The bread they served was delicious, and my meal was fantastic. Given the atmosphere and quality of the food, the prices are surprisingly reasonable. I highly recommend coming here instead of the Cheesecake Factory—it’s more affordable, tastier, and has a more romantic vibe.
Good...but, average. I had cheese manicotti with vodka sauce. I wanted to try their alfredo sauce, so I did get a side of that to try with bread. The vodka sauce was definitely the better sauce... the alfredo had a very thin consistency. I feel like Italian sauces should be able to hold on to the pasta, just in general. Personal opinion though, honestly, the flavor itself was good. I really wanted to try the bread pudding for dessert but it had nuts (not for me), so I had plain cheesecake that was definitely just basic. If I lived in the area, I would return try some other menu items for sure. The choices were MANY!
The chicken parmesan looked like it had come straight from a freezer bag. I was extremely disappointed, especially given the high prices. It seemed to be just a pre-packaged piece of chicken; I had hoped it would be made fresh rather than just reheated! I decided to give the place another chance recently, but that turned out to be a huge mistake. The bread was served ice cold, the service was terrible even though the restaurant was not busy at all, and the food quality was also poor. The bill came to $100, which made the experience even worse. Overall, it was a nightmare dining experience—definitely don’t waste your money here! I couldn't be more disappointed.
The food was enjoyable; I had the eggplant parmesan, while my husband opted for the chicken artichoke pasta. The peach tea was delightful. The only downside was that we had to request they lower the music volume, which they did, as it was too loud for our party of eight to have a conversation. We will definitely be back!
