Such a lovely place for sushi, sashimi, noodles, and rice dishes. Eat in, or take out, it’s equally good. I especially love the pineapple rice with chicken. So delicious. View all feedback.
What CourtyB doesn't like about Yamato:
Loved it. Sushi and sashimi were tasty and prepared well. I particularly enjoyed the hot and sour soup and the baked seafood appetizer. The staff are lovely, it is a great spot. Will definitely be back View all feedback.
Went here for a late lunch/early dinner date, and the food was great. We had our 10 mo. old son, and they were accommodating.
Went to dinner with 2 friends based on desire to eat outdoors others reviews. Backyard setting a bit disappointing. Fountain unique a nice plus, bamboo has seen better days. Main negative is very loud ac unit. Overall, ok outdoor dining not quite zen. Shiitake salad very good. Shared sashimi omakase, a California roll a crazy roll. All very good but not over the top like some say. Friend had scallops for entrée enjoyed. Average wait staff-didn't know anything about contents of omakase. Would redo /or recommend but with more modest expectations.
We have been here at least 10 times over the years. as usual food was great and as was the service. I made reservations using open table and when we got there they told me they did not have the reservation because the owner manager was not in to retrieve the reservation from the server. Only he has access to this function They had space but this could have been a disaster.
We've been to Yamato 4 times already and it's always amazing. The Chef's prefix menu is only $35 and for it is always delicious food, 3 courses, either sushi or Japanese cuisine. The service is always super friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend this place.
Lovely for intimate meals with friends or couples. Food was delicious and fresh! Definitely a great neighborhood find.
