Thip Osha - Brooklyn
Thip Osha
Description
Nestled in a small venue with limited seating, this Thai restaurant has carved out a niche for itself with a varied lunch menu and quick service. Diners rave about dishes like pad see ew and drunken noodles, celebrating their freshness and authentic flavors. While the ambiance feels a bit cramped and the lighting dim, the welcoming staff and homey vibe compensate. The restaurant offers great lunch specials, though some patrons wish for a return to previous quality at lower prices. Despite a few inconsistencies, this cozy spot is a worthy choice for both dine-in and takeout lovers.

Walked in randomly, cute tiny spot that has great food. I had the kaw mun gai, poached chicken with ginger rice and their house spicy sauce, and chicken broth soup. It hit the spot perfectly, great portion size and the sauce was 10/10. Washed it down with the soup for a fantastic lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This Thai restaurant is one of my favorites, no doubt about it! I always order the pad see ew, drunken noodles, or tom kha gai and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. I recently tried the rice ball in coconut milk for dessert and it was amazing! The restaurant is small and cozy, with only four small tables that seat two people each. It's good to note that there is no customer bathroom. I appreciate that they offer the option to dine-in, as many Thai spots are takeout only. The service has always been excellent when I dine in, with hospitable and kind staff. It's a great place to bring a friend (just one at a time). When the weather is nice, they have tables outside as well. They accept credit card payments, but you can get a small 5% discount if you pay in cash.
I visited this restaurant over the weekend with a group of 4 for a quick lunch. The restaurant is on the smaller side and felt a bit cramped; we ended up having to combine two small tables to accommodate all of us. Additionally, there was no customer restroom available. Despite these drawbacks, I would still recommend this place. They offer a lunch special, which includes an appetizer and entrée every day from opening to 3pm, with a good variety of options and generous portion sizes. The cost of the lunch special, plus an iced coffee or juice, came out to around $20 per person after tax and tip. The service was friendly and attentive. I cannot vouch for the authenticity of the food, but they had all the classic dishes as well as some enticing house specials. I tried the eggplant basil with pork and enjoyed the buttery soft eggplants and tender meat, although we wished that the dishes marked as spicy could have had a bit more heat.
