What Adam H doesn't like about Talea Beer Co.:
Good beer, but very expensive, even per NYC brewery standards. Also, they only pour a max of 12oz. Flights are $22 for four 4oz pours... that's more than a dollar per ounce. View all feedback.
Love all the beer (but particularly the sours) and the space. Such a clean, beautiful, and welcoming environment.
Spacious beer hall! The flight options are great for anyone looking to taste test.
Lovely venue, great mood playlist, felt a wave of calmess wash over as soon as i entered, and of course, delicious beers, i felt the experience lived up to the brewery’s mission which i read on the official website. One downside, now I don’t know if it was just on this occasion, but literally every single customer in there was sitting on their laptop, it felt like we were intrusive being the odd one out ordering beers. We also felt like we had to be cautious in conversing as to not interrupt their workflow. So we got an immediate co-working space vibe rather than a bar. So that was a minus.
I roll in on a Thursday afternoon. The place is mostly empty. There is one girl who beats me to the bar to order. There are two bartenders. The girl is alone and is chatty. She’s from Oregon or something. Both bartenders are now having a conversation with her. She wants some obscure IPA subtype that doesn’t exist here. I’m standing at the bar staring at all of them, about 2 feet away, for 10 minutes. I am transparent. She finally orders. The bartenders disappear off to the back to do something. I am incredulous. Anyway good spot if you want to be ignored and blend into the background.
