Sweetspot Cafe - Brooklyn

A very nice spot to go on Coney Island Ave, food is good with great presentation, attentive and friendly services. It’s a nice spot to take friends, my friends were very happy I took them there for a birthday meal.

Busy on Friday night. But great service with delicious food.

Our guests are arriving around 3:30 on Sunday. We wanted to sit down, have a meal, and chat. I called to make a reservation at this cafe. Artem answered, saying he was the manager. He asked, ‘Will you leave by 5?’ I thought maybe there was a banquet after 5, but I was told, ‘No, we just have two time slots: until 5 and from 6. It’s inconvenient for us otherwise. Even Igor (the owner) won’t be able to help you.’ It felt very rude and unprofessional. I’ve lived in the US for 30 years and have been to this cafe many times (though usually after 6), but I’ve never encountered service like this anywhere before. My desire to visit again has probably disappeared for good.

My whole family got food poisoning from eating here. We spent a lot of money and ordered many different appetizers, entrees, and desserts and ended up all sick and in pain. We had great expectations but were really disappointed. The food is displayed really nice and looks delicious, but portions are tiny for the price and sadly it seems as the kitchen isn’t as clean as expected. The big tall waiter/manager guy is very rude, tries to act as head honcho and disrespectful to customers. Standing by the bar the entire time having personal conversations with back turned to customers.

Absolutely love this place. Food is always fresh, flavorful and delicious. I always order their seafood. My favorite dishes are grilled St Peters fish and Branzino, shrimp in white sauce is great as well! Their stuff has great customer service and always super polite ! Thank you guys !
