Pollo D'Oro, a Peruvian restaurant near New York, fell short of expectations for many diners. Complaints of bland dishes, missing ingredients, and overpriced meals overshadowed the good ceviche and service. While some enjoyed the flavorful jalea and excellent salmon, others found the food lacking. Mixed reviews highlighted the hit-or-miss quality of both food and service. With prices on the higher side, patrons hoped for better value. The ambiance and drinks received praise, but inconsistent food quality left a lasting impression. Overall, opinions are divided on whether Pollo D'Oro is worth a visit.

The decor is a little underwhelming which gets you questioning whether or not this will be worth the meal, But the drinks with most focused on Pisco a Peruvian spirit distilled from grapes are fabulous as is the Sangria.Food is also really, really good. Empanadas were outstanding and the ceviche was fresh and tasty and plated beautifully. The Peruvian Specialties for main plates were really great. Try the shrimp over... View all feedback.
What Ivan Meléndez dislikes about Pollo D'Oro:
I went to this restaurant as a backup, and it was good. The cocktails were okay, the food had presentation and was delectable. The staff were attentive and helpful. The restaurant itself is well maintained with a nice outdoor seating area. The only thing that set me aback was the credit card surcharge that was applied. While the waitress did notify me before taking my order, she offered not to apply the surcharge if... View all feedback.
I had the salmon on top of cilantro infused rice. It was amazing and I absolutely loved it. The service was adequate, but not outstanding. The food took longer than I expected, but damn, it was worth the wait. The service gets 3 stars, but with food like this, I've got to give this place a five!
Best chilcano! I had a girls night dinner and drinks at this place awesome experience! Our waitress was excellent. Ceviche was awesome and the grill octopus delicious cocktails were great. I highly recommend this place you should try it.
One of the best Peruvian restaurants around. Great service by the staff, great food and drinks. Everyone should give this place a try. They serve Peruvian cuisines that can't be found in any other Peruvian restaurants

Pollo D’Oro is such a quaint little gem tucked away in downtown Brooklyn. We tried the salmon, pollo saltado, and the creamy chicken — each dish was absolutely delicious and came in generous portions that left us more than satisfied. The flavors felt both comforting and elevated. What really stood out, though, were the cocktails — so unique and interesting, unlike the usual bar menu, and they paired beautifully with the food. Warm, cozy atmosphere with food and drinks that truly hit the spot. Definitely a place worth coming back to! Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50
