It was enjoyable even though some of the dishes were too salty for my tastes. An added advantage was the excellent service.

The restaurant has been around since 1906 and it's easy to see why - the food is of high quality. I especially loved the Burrata E Prosciutto, with its creamy center, and the Reale Pizza, topped with prosciutto and fried eggplant. While the pizza was a bit soggy in the middle, the edges were perfect. I wasn't a fan of the Ravioli, as I found the mozzarella to be overpowering, but I would definitely try other pasta options. The portion sizes were generous and the prices were reasonable, though they only accept cash or Amex. The ambiance at Monte's is unique, with its location in Gowanus and old-world charm. The restaurant has some outdoor seating and a bar at the front that opens into a large dining room. The staff was welcoming and friendly, even though we arrived late. There is a small private parking lot available. Overall, Monte's is a great spot for classic Italian dishes with top-notch service.
