Loud atmosphere and subpar service combined with declining food quality are turning regulars away. One couple encountered an unappetizing surprise in their oysters, with poor service and contradictions further souring the experience. On the positive side, while the lobster roll and tater tots were highlights, other dishes fell short. Despite some pleasant outdoor features and quick service, inconsistencies persist. The bar and lounges received praise, but lackluster drinks detract from full satisfaction. Inconsistent experiences suggest caution before returning.
Pretty average place. Lobster roll was disappointing to say the least.Food: 4/5
The place has a nice outdoor setup and has a pretty casual look inside. The drinks were just ok. I got the lobster roll and the lobster was very overcooked. The tater tots were perfect though. The crab cake sandwich was fine but the bread was a bit too dense for the sandwich. The raw oysters were not very flavorful or meaty. The service was fast and friendly.
My partner and I went for happy hour. We were excited because my partner loves fried clams. We ordered oysters, salmon, and, of course, the fried clams. We were surprised and disgusted when we found a worm in our oysters. The server cleared the plate, and we decided to continue with what turned out to be a mediocre meal. My partner’s fried clams were tough and chewy and the salmon was flavorless. When we received the bill, we were surprised to see we were still being charged for the worm oysters. When we asked to discuss the charge with a supervisor, we were told they were not there, so another server was sent over. This was the first time someone apologized for the unhygienic shellfish, and they took it off the bill after consulting their supervisor… who we had just been told was not there. Mistakes happen, but live insects crawling around the food, a failure to apologize, and lying to customers make this restaurant a place you should absolutely miss. There are too many good seafood restaurants in the neighborhood to patronize mediocrity.
Staff was friendly but service was suuuuppppper slow. The baked clams were delicious but the lobster roll and shrimp pasta was truly disappointing. Not bad but very eh. Both were underseasoned and the lobster roll was laughably tiny. They were out of oysters when we went but others seemed to happy with them so maybe this is a place to just do apps and raw bar
I’ve been here a couple of times now. I like their outdoor space a lot and I will keep coming back just for the outdoors. But that Would restrict it to becoming a summer restaurant for me.The word stuff seems amenable but I don’t think a lot of them speak English, as a First Language which is not a problem but I think they try and streamline the process of giving you what it is you want without making too many changes to itBoth times that I’ve come here I have been seated immediately and given a menu quickly. Service is also fairly quick.I don’t really recommend the drinks the wine is fine but I would save my money for the food. I usually get the fish when I am here and we have tried the oysters as well as The Bronzino and the Zatar tuna. I definitely recommend the latter it is delicious and very well flavored and prepared. The Bronzino is a little more simple in it’s preparation but the spinach it comes with is amazing.I’ll definitely be back for more food
