We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was mostly delicious, but the standout dish was definitely the pancakes - a hit with everyone! We opted for asparagus to accompany our meat dishes, but were disappointed with the red BBQ sauce covering them. After dining, we enjoyed karaoke singing in spacious and clean rooms. What John K dislikes about Insa:
The servers at Insa are disrespectful and openly admit to not liking Korean food, which is reflected in their preparation and service. I do not recommend ordering the jajang as they have no understanding of the dish or the significance behind the sauce. Insa was once known for bringing authentic Korean cuisine to Brooklyn, but has now become a parody of itself with servers who disrespect the culture and treat ingredi... View all feedback.

We had a great time here! Food was mostly delicious, but definitely get the pancakes. Those were a hit with everyone! We wanted vegetables with all the meat we ordered, so we got asparagus, but those were disappointing since they were covered in a red BBQsauce. We then went karaoke singing. Compared to other karaoke bars I've been to, these rooms were spacious and clean! Thesystem is also very easy to use. Highly recommend for date night or a fun night out with friends!
Insa is a Korean BBQ restaurant that is conveniently located for those of us who live in Brooklyn and don’t want to travel to K-town, Flushing, or Palisades Park for kbbq. Though, I would say it is worth it to travel to the above listed places for goodquality korean bbq. My partner and I shared the pajeon which was lacking adequate green onions. It was also quite thick, notlike the traditionally thin pajeon. We split a bottle of makgeolli which was delicious but 3x the price of the bottle boughtfrom the actual shop in Brooklyn. The banchans were decent. They did continuously resupply us with more when we finishedthem. As for the barbecue itself, meat is always good. Our server, however, seemed to be unsure of how to properly execute theact of barbecuing. It was good, nonetheless, just slightly painful to watch him unsteadily flip the steak time and timeagain. Overall, it was decent. I would choose to go to other Korean bbq restaurants in the future over this one, though. Gladto have tried it. It seems like they are more popular for their bar and karaoke rooms which I did not experience.
Absolutely tasty Korean BBQ a great selection of other menu specialties. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun for both dining and karaoke. You won’t regret stopping in for a meal.
Great walk-in experience and great food When we arrived we were told they were full and we could wait by the bar. The Bartender was very kind and had great recommendations. You can order food at the bar so it’s not wasted time at all. We also waited only15 minutes before being seated, before our first dish came out The bbq is plenty and delicious. Would recommend their MP/perpound meats

This restaurant is a great place to have some fun, in my opinion the wings are the best option on the menu.
This restaurant serves the best rum old fashioned I have ever had! The food is also excellent.
I visit Insa regularly because it's a fantastic spot with a trendy vibe, karaoke in the back, flavored soju, and the option for family-style BBQ right at your table. It's a perfect place for a date night!
The food was good, not great. The drinks were also good. So many young kids running around, it made for a dining experience I do not wish to repeat

We made a reservation online for this restaurant and encountered a small issue, but it was resolved promptly and we were seated within minutes. The food was delicious and my companions, who had never tried Korean food before, really enjoyed it. However, I advise sharing a main dish between two people if you also want to have starters because the portions are quite large. Overall, this restaurant seems like a fantastic choice for events and parties!
Very good Korean bbq spot. While alil on the pricey side, I’ve eaten here 2/3 times and the quality is consistently excellent. Whether ordering meats for the grill, or regular dishes, it’s all great. Come with a group of friends, stuff yourselves then rent a private karaoke room in the back and have a ball. You won’t regret it. Update, went again this past weekend (late 2023) and the food and service is still excellent. Also changing from 4 to 5 stars. I really enjoy dining at Insa because it’s consistently excellent. I look forward to dining here again!

The restaurant utilizes a table grill for cooking the food, which adds a fun interactive element to the dining experience. While the food was good, it wasn't outstanding. The karaoke section was a highlight, as we had a blast singing our hearts out. The cocktails were delicious, but the bar area tended to get crowded quickly, making it a bit challenging to find a seat or even move around comfortably at times.
Although I didn’t order Korean BBQ, I sat in the bar area and it’s a beautiful setting!! The red tree really creates a smooth ambiance. Even the Korean BBQ tables looked super sleek and I would totally consider having a birthday here. I came here to find legit bibimbap ya know, the whole stone vessel that keeps the food warm and the rice at the bottom crunchy. The elements were delicious, fresh, and the flavors on point. They didn’t do the whole egg presentation thing like they do in other countries, but I’m sure there’s good reason haha. It wasn’t a deal breaker I still got my egg on top The pork rinds were fine. Good seasoning. Crunchy. Nothing super special, but it met my expectations (in a good way). NOTE Careful of the kimchi drink. It’s like drinking straight up kimchi. Not my personal favorite and it was a lot to handle. Otherwise! The other drinks were good. I’d definitely come back!

Service was terrible. Server forgot to punch in almost half our food and then when we asked if it was coming she said “sorry the kitchen is closed” so we left hungry. She also had to be prompted to bring rice several times. The food was expensive and mediocre at best. Very disappointed and the meal was very expensive for what it was.Food: 2/5
Not so authentic Korean. Servers are friendly but they don’t know how to properly grill K-bbq. Extremely slow service but the atmosphere is pleasant and cute.Food: 3/5
I loved everything about this place, really special and fun for a big group for drinks, food was sooo good (fried chicken and bulgoki steak, seafood and scallion pancakes, and bipimbap). My only complaint is the prices, but you really do get what you pay for the service and atmosphere was great. Sad I can't afford to come back more often though.
Insa prioritizes style over substance. They have a bar, karaoke, and restaurant, and only succeed at one of the three services.Let’s start with the good. I joined friends for diner and karaoke. The food was good, not the best Korean I’ve had, but the fried chicken was exceptional. Portions were small, so not like your typical Korean BBQ.Now onto what made this a very bad experience. After diner things got weird as we moved into a karaoke room. We had 13 people and the room we were in was only allotted for 12. They must have gotten into trouble recently because they were suspicious and aggressive about making sure we knew the rules. As a group we decided that one person would swap out and that person would hang at the bar, so we could comply. We start, but see through the little window in the door that every 5 minutes a new person from staff would come to the window and count the number of people. At one point someone even came into the room in the middle of a song to interrupt us to tell us we had too many people in the room, when we didn’t.It made the entire experience uneasy, anxious, and unpleasant. They immediately turned us into people who were there to break their rules. It was a horrible experience and I would not ever want anyone to have to go through that.As we rotate from the room to the bar, we are asked to put our orders in via the call button in the room. So, we’re told not to be in the room then chastised for ordering at the bar? We ordered water to the room via the button so we didn’t get into trouble AGAIN, to accompany lots of drinks. 20 minutes pass and the water never comes, so as we rotate out the 13th person heads to the bar to inquire. The bartender brought in a pitcher. THEN another staff person barges into the room, interrupting a song, and demanded the mic to chastise us for asking about our order at the bar.It was a complete lack of customer service, you know it was like anti-customer service. We were made to feel like we were doing something wrong which destroyed any fun we could have had. This place obviously can’t manage a restaurant, a bar, and karaoke all at the same time.I’ve never experienced something so foul as a customer in a venue. It really ruined my friend’s birthday. Please don’t support this place. There are plenty of other places that have it together.
Came here to pre game the other day before a pride event. Love the atmosphere. Maddy was super sweet and an amazing server. I had a great time, and was very thankful to be in a queer friendly space that appreciates and understands pronouns. If you check out the bar, try the velvet rope! Super tasty.Food: 5/5
