Nestled in the heart of East New York, this restaurant offers a vibrant taste of Venezuelan cuisine that captivates diners. While many praise the freshness and exquisite flavors of dishes like Cachapas and Patacons, others express concerns about inconsistent food quality and cleanliness. Highlights include homemade lemonade and specialty drinks that resonate well with patrons. The restaurant's inviting atmosphere and warm service further enhance the dining experience, as guests enjoy engaging conversations with the staff about the culture behind the dishes. Overall, it's a culinary gem worth exploring, though some may wish for improvements in food presentation and hygiene.

I think it goes without saying that Cachapas Brooklyn rocks at its namesake cachapas (and of course the Venezuelan standards burgers, taquenos, patacones, arepas stuffed to the brim). But this place?s Yoyos (a overstuffed sandwich such that thebread is replaced by soft, extra ripe plantains) allows it to stand out at an extraordinary level of culinary prowess. Even incities in Latin America with large Venezuelan populations that I?ve visited (ie bogota), high quality yoyos are far harder tofind than arepas and cachapas. The yoyos here are extraordinary so crunchy and crispy on the outside yet radiating sugaryjuices of umami into the saltiness of the Pernil (the roasted pork beneath) and cheese .
The food is incredible! Everything is fresh and put together perfectly, the flavors and the sauces are insane. We had a chicken Cachapa, a Venezuelan cheese burger aka Maracucha, and a steak Patacon. We also had their specialty drinks- one was a lime andsugar cane drink like a sweet tea, the other was a rice milk with cinnamon drink which you need to try as well. And then we tookhome chicken and beef empanadas so we could relive the taste again tomorrow! Lol Don?t sleep on this place, stop in and getsomething! You will be so happy you did!
The empanada was hard and seemed stale. The chicken sandwich was of poor quality; the bread was very soggy and the lettuce looked wilted. None of the food was even slightly warm. It felt as though everything had been pre-packaged and was simply waiting to be ordered.
The food was delicious, and I truly enjoyed it. I will definitely be ordering from here again. Long live Venezuela!
