Bien Cuit - Brooklyn
Bien Cuit
Description
Nestled in the neighborhood, this bakery-café earns praise for inventive pastries—tarts, cookies and pound cake—and a full coffee bar, plus a lush backyard and kid-friendly play area ideal for working or relaxing. Standout floral and herbal flavors and attentive staff are highlights, but experiences can be uneven: pastry freshness, portioning and labeling vary, coffee is sometimes lukewarm, and packaging or dog-policy inconsistencies detract. Expect charming ambiance and bold flavors, but occasional service and quality lapses mean bring patience.

I enjoyed a tart with elderflower and basil that may have altered the course of my life. On another occasion, I tried the poppyseed chamomile cookie, and it was equally incredible!
I really wanted to enjoy their bread and pastries, but unfortunately, I was let down. The customer service was fine, but the corn bread loaf cake I tried was incredibly hard. I get that it's made with corn flour, but it should crumble when you bite into it, not stay intact. It felt almost stale because it was so dry. Additionally, their baguette is sourdough and very sour. I didn’t see it labeled as such, and it was a bit frustrating. For $5, I expected more. The earl grey pound cake was decent, but it didn't redeem the rest of the items. I’ve had much better experiences at other locations, like Cobble Hill.
I visited Bein Cuit based on a recommendation from my partner, who mentioned that the service there was exceptional. I was warmly welcomed and attended to by Aaron, who was a truly lovely and well-mannered individual. He was attentive to all my needs as a customer and patiently answered my questions about the products. Aaron is a refreshing representative of the Bein Cuit brand and truly deserves recognition for his excellent service. This experience was a wonderful example of what quality service can be, in stark contrast to unpleasant experiences elsewhere. I look forward to returning to this establishment soon and would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Aaron. Wishing him continued success and peace in his endeavors. Peace.
I came here specifically for their chocolate chip cookies, the salted chocolate buckwheat cookies, and the sweet bread.
This is my 3rd time here I left Like 2hrs ago) typically I get a slice of the loafs. I love how they pack them in the box so the icing is in tact. Today they had one I’ve never tried and it looked so delicious. The cashier put it in this bag, totally ruining the Icing, handing it to me so messy. : I’m sad because just noticed it’s in my shirt
