Hakataya Ramen on the Gold Coast earns loyal fans with flavorful, well-priced bowls—the cha‑siu and spicy miso stand out and free extra noodles are a bonus. Tiny food‑court locations deliver fast service when properly staffed and servers are applauded for working under pressure. However, chronic understaffing, long queues, occasional missing items and order delays undermine otherwise excellent food; better front‑of‑house coordination, more registers and small touches like including wipes would make visits consistently smooth.

The Tonkotsu (Pork) Ramen is my favorite, and don't forget that your first serving of Kaedama (extra noodles) is complimentary! The staff here are very friendly, and the gyoza is always cooked to perfection. It pairs beautifully with the chili oil that is available in the dining area.
This is a tiny restaurant with a very limited menu, which initially didn't leave us with a great impression—we were expecting fast food quality. However, the long queue outside was enticing enough for us to give it a shot. I'm glad we did! The cha-siew ramen was exceptional, featuring one of the best pork broths I’ve ever tasted, and it offered great quality for the price. The flavors were light, smooth, and not overly salty like many ramens tend to be.
We ordered the charsiu-men and the Karaka-men Shio spicy ramen. I really enjoyed the Shio spicy ramen; its level of spiciness was just right for me and it met the standards of ramen I've had in Japan. I also tried the Karaka-men soup, but I found it to be a bit too spicy for my taste. If you're craving Asian food or a comforting bowl of noodles, you definitely need to give this place a try!
Best Ramen on the Gold Coast!! Everytime we come for a holiday, this is our first stop.
My husband and I love Japanese ramen. We visited a few branches: Gold Coast, broadbeach, garden city and sunnybank. We found for some reason the broadbeach branch the soup does not taste as good and as fragrant as the other store but in general it was still a very good bowl of ramen and for that I will give 4.5 star instead of 5
