It's also the only completely vegetarian spot in the area. The food is fresh; the mini quiches are baked from scratch daily. The chickpea patties are made to order and it shows. They also offer soups, salads, and coffee. Their baked goods – including bagels, croissants, muffins, and danishes – come from Davidovich unlike the standalone bakeshops, Davidovich Bakery’s wholesale division is certified kosher by the OK . UGC eats gets its name from the many plants available for purchase at the cafe: all plants were grown at the East Harlem-based Urban Garden Center. This establishment is owned and operated by the same Gatanas family that founded the Urban Garden Center.

I can't shake the feeling that this place is like some transplanted pastry bistro out of the New Orleans Bywater. It's too perfectly artsy calming to be in; it's just good for you mentally!
