Description

WonderFish is a quaint little fish and chip shop that also offers coffee. While it may be better suited for takeaway due to limited seating, the fish burger is both tasty and affordable. Some reviewers have had negative experiences, citing food poisoning and a decline in quality since ownership changes. Others have praised the variety and value of the menu, along with the efficient and friendly service. Overall, WonderFish provides a mix of experiences but seems to be a popular choice for fish and chips in the area.

The service was excellent at this charming neighborhood fish and chip shop. The cod and chips were perfectly golden and light, without any greasiness. The garden salad was freshly made and featured a great variety of vegetables.

This charming little restaurant boasts a fantastic selection of affordable burgers, sandwiches, and of course, fish and chips. Everything is cooked fresh and served in generous portions, making it an excellent value worth checking out! After exploring Graceville, my partner and I stumbled upon WonderFish, located in an area filled with strip malls that is easily visible from the train. It was a lovely day, and the cheerful outdoor seating caught our attention. We looked at the menu displayed in the window and were amazed by the low prices! Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by a friendly gentleman. I ordered the Bacon Burger ($6), while my partner opted for the Fish and Chips ($8.50), which featured one piece of cod with your choice of regular or crunchy batter. We were pleased to find out that they accept credit cards here. Inside the spotless establishment, we noticed a glass counter showcasing fresh fish fillets for sale, which I thought was a great touch. We decided to enjoy our meal outside at one of the tables, and it didn’t take long for our food to arrive. I was impressed by the size of my bacon burger! Although it didn’t come with chips, it was substantial enough on its own. The bun was fresh, and the patty (while not homemade) filled the entire bun. The toppings—beetroot, iceberg lettuce, and tomato—were generously piled on, and the large slices of bacon complemented the burger perfectly. I’ve had more gourmet burgers with bolder flavors, but for just $6, the quality and freshness are hard to beat! My partner's piece of battered cod was also a decent portion and, importantly, didn’t have an overpowering smell—always a good sign of freshness! It was served with a generous side of chips, which were hot, crispy, and not greasy. While my partner noted that they could have used a bit more seasoning, I found their delicate flavor quite enjoyable. We both agreed that the food tasted freshly made rather than sitting around. The dish was garnished with a bit of parsley, so my partner got a touch of veggies! Overall, we left WonderFish feeling full, satisfied, and grateful for their delicious food at lower prices than many other places in the neighborhood. This spot is perfect for a quick and affordable lunch, served by friendly staff at a relaxed pace. I highly recommend WonderFish to anyone who values their money and appreciates good quality, fresh fish. It's located among various other restaurants of different price ranges and styles, as well as coffee shops and unique boutiques, making it a great stop, especially on a weekend when you can take the time to explore the area.

Friendly service, with a smile. Their bacon egg burgers are the best, and their home made spring rolls are to die for! I am, and will continue to be, a regular customer. Thank you, Wonder Fish! :

I'm searching for the best fish and chip shop in my area, and I recently tried this charming little place in Graceville. The chips were excellent—crispy and lightly salted. The calamari was well-breaded, although a bit tough and chewy, it was still enjoyable. However, the potato scallops were a disappointment; they had no flavor and were lacking in seasoning. Overall, I'm happy to give this place a 4-star rating—definitely worth a visit!
