Peasant - Brisbane
Peasant
Description
Peasant, a Spanish style restaurant in a central location, offers a mix of experiences according to reviewers. While some were disappointed with the service, others found it to be a hidden gem with delicious tapas and a perfect atmosphere for a great night out. The paella was a letdown for one reviewer, who thought it was too spicy, resembling Mexican rice more than Spanish paella. However, others raved about the variety and quality of the dishes, including scallops, pork, croquettes, prawns, and salad tapas. The sangria was a hit among many, and the consistent quality of food and service at Peasant makes it a popular choice for catching up with friends or celebrating special occasions. With dark and moody ambiance, fresh tapas, and good portion sizes, Peasant is a delightful option for those looking for traditional Spanish fare in a friendly environment.

What a great place to wind down and eat. We had tapas of Spanish sardines, olives and chorizo. We had great Spanish wine and dark Spanish beer. Look forward to our next visit.
Six of us headed back to Peasant for a girls catch up and the best thing about this restaurant is they are so consistent at getting it right. We had the la familiar banquet of the day which was six courses for $50pp. They make their own sangria on site and carafes are a must for the table. Atmosphere is excellent but gets packed so can get very noisy at times. A great spot for a catch up with good friends.
There is a lot to like about this place. The venue is central, the atmosphere is dark and moody (without being depressed). The food is fresh and appropriate potion sizes for tapas. It's a great place to visit with friends or celebrate a birthday etc. Staff are efficient without getting in the way. Great wine list, although personally, I can never go past the sangria!!
The Seafood zarzuela with barramundi, mussels, clams, tiger prawns, and chorizo is a delightful mix of flavors. The Rangers Valley beef cheeks with celeriac and cauliflower...
