Paddock - Brisbane
Paddock
Description
Perched on Gregory Terrace near The Tivoli, this casual pub pairs affordable, tasty American-style fare—standout burgers, pulled chicken pizza and local ales—with a lively open-plan space and fairy-lit outdoor deck. Happy Hour and friendly bar staff are highlights, though service is inconsistent and some dishes (notably certain pizzas and fries) miss the mark. Low tables, occasional loud live music and no wheelchair access to the outside deck temper the experience, but the convenient location and relaxed vibe make it a solid pre-show or after-work spot.

We had a wonderful experience at the Paddock Bar, located right on Gregory Terrace. The setting was lovely, with large umbrellas providing shade. We enjoyed the Paddock Ale and the pulled chicken pizza, both of which were delicious! The bar staff was attentive and friendly. The open-plan design offered plenty of casual seating.
Let’s talk about the burgers—juicy and free from that annoying brioche bun trend. Am I the only one who can't stand brioche? Does anyone else dislike it as much as I do? There’s really no reason to pair an overly sweet bun with a delicious burger unless you’re trying to mask a subpar patty. Only then would you need to cover up a bad recipe with other flavors. I heard the pizza was described as "oh my gosh, it’s so yummy!" The calamari was cooked perfectly and had an extra kick of spices that sparked a debate at our table. Long story short, I enjoy trying new and interesting flavors, while some others prefer to stick with the classic salt and pepper.
The food was absolutely delicious, but it took quite a while for the bartender to stop chatting and take our order. While the restaurant is very clean and offers plenty of space, as well as music and various channels, the tables inside are quite low, which makes dining a bit challenging.
Went there to catch up with friends and have a nice coldie. We were there at the same time as the FOMO Music Festival, which spoiled it slightly as we could not really speak over the noise of the Festival. Don 't want to let this spoil the review because obviously this was out of their control. Liked the atmosphere. Loved the huge open windows that allowed for easy 'people gazing '. Beer was cold, service was friendly. What more can you expect?
