Dining as part of a big group is always a challenge (especially for the wait staff) but Longtime made it very easy. While we had to have the banquet menu, which I normally find frustrating, the team was amazing at looking after various dietary requirements. The food itself was delicious, but perhaps a little spicy for a few in our group. Several small starters were followed by so many mains that it seemed wasteful. A small dessert followed and we were out the door in our allotted 2 and a half hour slot. Will be back, although perhaps for something a little more intimate next time - dinner for two perhaps.

It's a cute space and the wine list is decent. That's about it for the positives. Everything is focused on getting in the maximum number of people each night in the minimum possible time and this was a Wednesday night. This includes cramming strangers uncomfortably close to one another at the communal table despite there being dozens of vacant seats; and telling people they need to wait for a table to increase alcohol consumption in the holding pen outside. I requested a 6pm reservation but they said only 5.30 was possible, (despite there being hardly anyone there at 6pm).Then the email confirmation listing all the rules. Arrive 15 minutes early, vacate table within two hours etc. etc. We had no trouble complying with the latter, given 5 dishes (2 courses and rice for two people) were all served within 15 minutes of being seated and one was inedibly salty and left uneaten. Getting the first drink was easy, getting another was harder. Seems we'd had our allotted 15 minutes and by 5.40pm, dinner was a wrap. Over $100 for 2, overpriced, food nothing special, but worst of all, about as far removed from the concept of 'hospitality' as is possible. The local Thai may not have the decor, but at a third of the price, with authentic flavours and genuine friendly service it's a helluva lot better experience.
