Solid bar with standard drinks. Nice and quiet to relax with friends. Dessert I ordered was bread and butter pudding, it was off the charts good!
I came here on the Dimmi 50% off special. The service is actually good, friendly and prompt. But I waited 30-40 minutes for food to arrive, which is too long for a lunchtime in the CBD and the restaurant was only a third full. I actually think it's quite overpriced. Mains are around $30 and the space is fairly basic, no tablecloths and has a cafe feel. I ordered the Cone Bay barramundi. It looked a bit like pub food when it arrived, with chips and a pub-style salad. At full price, I would have felt a bit let down. The fish did not have a crisp skin and was a touch over cooked - quality produce though. It was a nice piece of fish. I wouldn't return. Not a nice enough space, food nothing special and too expensive for what it is. Lots of other choices in this area.
The wagyu flank steak and squid were great - both very succulent and full of flavor. Zucchini fries were a let down though - tiny strips of plant in overpowering bread coating, very unbalanced. So I ended up taking the zucchini out and leaving the dough on the side. Service was friendly and prompt. Would definitely recommend this place if you love your meat and don't mind paying a bit extra for the good quality.
