The setting is great as a converted wa... read more Second visit to happy boy and wanted to reserve judgment until we had returned however it was the same on both occasions. The setting is great as a converted warehouse but very noisy on a Saturday night. We arrived to people all over the pavement and in the entrance with no clear place to confirm your reservation. Anyway once we did get our table we ordered the banquet (and they allowed us to make a few special requests) which is great value as you get a lot of dishes and the food really is great. However, one of our dishes had a hair in it which the staff did apologise for and replaced. The service over all was pretty bad as they are not attentive at all after they drop your food at the table. Finally we were two couples and wanted to halve the bill over two cards which we couldn't do which is a bit of an outdated policy.

From the friendly staff / service to the awesome atmosphere and rustic vibe, to the awesome food, everything was perfect... Food was all delicious and relatively cheap for high end Asian. We ordered 5 dishes and loved them all. Would highly recommend. Great large servings and most importantly so yum and fresh!

Keep up the excellent work! You truly are the best Chinese restaurant I have ever visited, and you definitely deserve a five-star rating! The friendliness and professionalism of your staff set you apart. To be honest, even if the food is excellent, poor service can drag a restaurant down to one star. This was the best dinner I’ve had in a long time. Thank you, Happy Boy! Now I feel like I need to downgrade all my previous reviews to 4 stars just to make your 5 stars truly meaningful! My mom, who has been enjoying mapo tofu from various Chinese restaurants for the past 20 years, said this one was probably the best she’s ever had. The salt and pepper prawns were exceptional, and my favorite dish of the night, despite strong competition from the Beijing duck pancakes. The beef chow ho fun was simply perfect as well.
