Even though there were only two of us eating, I believe that four people could easily enjoy this meal for hours. It was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend it.

I was astounded by how rude the lady run... read more My girlfriend and I got take away fish and chips from here last month (we went and had it in the park across the road). I was astounded by how rude the lady running the place was. I had my very well behaved border collie on a leash, a picnic blanket under my arm and my baby in the other - and without any preamble she came up and barked at me "No dogs allowed here". I replied "thats ok - we are ordering take away".... Then I walked over to my girlfriend who was sitting at the table with her little girl (waiting for me) and my friend told me that about 5minutes before her daughter isla had been playing with a salt sachet and the lady stormed over, and without a word snatched the salt off her daughter and stomped back behind the counter.... We purchased $60 worth of fish and chips and we were literally THE ONLY customers there (the japanese place next door was pumping with people; and admittedly, having frequented there - I must say it is brilliant). And no surprise really... with such **** customer treatment its no wonder the place was empty. The fish was good - but we will not return ever again because the service was disgraceful and the woman was very rude.

The food is always fresh, prepared quickly, and the service is friendly.

The menu was pr... read more My friends and I decided to have a picnic on a Sunday and we chose to try out Fish 53. There were five of us and we ordered a variety of dishes. The menu was pretty standard and the prices were reasonable. While it may not be considered gourmet fish and chips, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the salads. The seafood was delicious and the oil tasted fresh. The chips were of a good standard, although there were no options for beer battered or double cooked chips. The homemade potato scallops were excellent. The portion sizes were generous for the price. The restaurant also has indoor dining and is located next to an ice cream shop and other treats. It is situated in a busy area with limited parking. Overall, we were all satisfied with our meals and would definitely return.
