Farrier - Brisbane
Farrier
Description
Farrier, a cozy restaurant and bar, offers a mix of experiences according to recent reviews. With a nicely decked out interior and friendly staff, it's a great spot for casual drinks and snacks. However, there were mix reviews about the loud music, limited food options, and weird acoustics. Despite some disappointment, the sweet potato fries and dips were highlighted as delicious. The atmosphere was described as warm and cozy, making it a great place for a nightcap. Overall, it seems like Farrier may be worth giving another try under different circumstances.

Came here for a quick drink and felt like I was stepping into a ski chalet European style bar. Very cozy bar with a great atmosphere. All exposed rocks with warm white lighting which created a very nice and warm atmosphere, perfect for a chilly night cap! Will be coming back to try the food.
I have to confess I have been sitting on this for a bit cause I just wasn't sure what to say. If there was one word to sum up the entire experience it would be "bemusing". Followed by "disappointing" although maybe that's at least partially my own fault. My husband and I had decide to use a child free evening to meet a friend for a drink and dinner after work and after a bit of research settled on Farrier - for food and convenience reasons. When I arrived there was no one there - it was quite early and I didn't think a lot of it. The place is nicely decked out and kind of cosy (even if you're there by yourself). Not sure how I'd feel on a 35 degree day I guess they have aircon. Anyway my companions duly arrived. We ordered drinks and the sweet potato fries and dips. Everything was all very nice although the music was quite loud which I always find slightly weird when you're the only people there but I guess we all have our own definition of what is too loud (and I don't really like loud music). The sweet potato fries were delicious - large portion, very crispy and with flakes of salt. The dips were nice (although did seem to be 2 kinds of hummus) - but were accompanied by 3 slices of bread which I can only describe as "hadn't been properly defrosted". That was kind of weird - they didn't improve with time either (rock hard) and eventually we just ate the chips with the dip. Still a bit peckish we decided to order more food - I didn't mind what, it all sounded yum - but my husband returned with our drinks to report that they pretty much didn't have any other food. I'll admit that I was not there so I did not hear the exchange to understand the exact magnitude of what "no other food" was. Sufficient to say this did seem a bit odd and also disappointing. It wasn't like I was starving but kind of looking forward to the pork belly bao or meatballs. So we finished up our drinks and left. A little bit hungry-ish. Overall it kind of felt like, cause it wasn't a very busy night, everything was a bit casual. I didn't really interact with any of the staff so it's hard to say. I had initially made a mental note to give them kudos for not automatically putting a straw in my drink cause I am trying to cut out straws, but in hindsight I'm not sure whether this was on purpose or just cause they forgot (or couldn't be bothered). I would like to go back sometime under different circumstances as I'm sure this was probably not what it's like usually ... but don't know if I'd risk it. We did have a nice time catching up with a friend. I guess that's something.

Came here for a fast drink and felt like I was in a ski hall european style bar. very cozy bar with a great atmosphere. all exposed rocks with warm white lighting that creates a very nice and warm atmosphere, perfect for a cool nightcap! will come back to taste the food.
Very cozy atmosphere, ruined by pool table and tvs. we went on Saturday night after dinner. it was quiet relatiw until a loud men came to the pool. the acoustics of this place is not great for loud groups. I wouldn't call it an dinner bar, her cocktails are simple and bad. they also have a not working spotify crowd DJ system.
