What Jazmyne Keeling dislikes about Coffee Guru:
gluten-free. I was lucky yesterday to stop at coffee guru. I asked for a tee and said when I was gf, I had brought my own cookies. the beautiful girl behind the counter said they had a series of GF products, including scenes. I had no scoone for years and was absolutely thrilled. I didn't really expect it to be wonderful, how gf is rare! but to my joy I enjoyed my GF-Scoone with jam and looked very much. I thought I... In all honesty, this is a pretty good place. It looks a bit standard, a bit like your usual cafe and not a specialty coffee place, but from the taste of stuff that I had here it works well to its advantages. This really rises above the stigma of a shopping center cafe and proves, while not standing on its own just yet, that it possess at least a few merits worthy of being mentioned. After playing a few rounds of pool with a friend, and before calling it a day, someone here had suggested to go get a coffee and sit somewhere for just a bit longer. This was more or less a case of chance, since he just needed some water and the two of us went to the closest supermarket - in which this was just right outside. One thing he knows well about me is my preference for a coffee each time. More or less that is how we got here, by happenstance. To get both of the secondary aspects of service and setting out of the way, the whole look, feel, and aesthetic that they have to the place is one for getting to and relaxing for a bit. In the middle - where I sat with my friend - were a couple of low-seating couches. Looking back at it, with it sectioned off into a corner in the middle area of the shopping center, I can't help but think it looks like the set of a sitcom - probably something to do with less than four walls. Also, it actually looks quite good using mahogany wood with the walls and floor. Unlike a lot of standard cafes, this one does not have that sterile aesthetic to it. Going well with that is leisurely service, that is friendly. Being lenient with a few minutes towards the happy hour was a good first clue to this, and it was the general pleasant attitude abound. The way the service is run is that the outer counter is where the orders are placed, you get a number and then find a table. It is more or less the usual cafe food that they serve here. Nothing too special here or there, and it has the audience-pleasing variety. It starts off with an all-day breakfast, that consists of the usual suspects, then closer to lunch time it there are different sorts of sandwiches - grilled cheese, toasted, and fresh - your basic cafe meals, salads, and burgers. For something a bit on the sweet side, the cabinet is full of cakes and slices. Finishing up with drinks, there is coffee, tea, milkshakes and a bunch of sodas, juices et al. Really, it is nothing too out of the ordinary that they offer. The coffee that they use comes from Merlo, which really depends well on who is behind the machine. This can be pretty basic at times, but for this time around it was not too bad. It won't be among the must-dos of town, but it is a solid enough cup of coffee that they did. As per usual, without a hint of surprise, what I had was a doppio. Seeing the opportunity to get a good review in, I went to get something sweet on the side. It was a bit before happy hour, but they saw some leeway, and there was a coffee and cake deal available. The doppio was decent, a bit hotter than usual and keeping the good taste in tact. It was a little tart, the crema was a bit thin, however the presentation of the cup was particularly good with this one. Getting it on the side, what I went with was a caramel cake. There was the offer of having cream on the side with the cake, and I said yes to that. By saying caramel, this one did have quite a bit of chocolate mixed throughout it - it was less like a Mars bar and more like combining toffee with chocolate. The texture was akin to mousse, and surprisingly it was not too sweet, and I definitely did not feel the tooth rot just yet. It was delicious, layered and just the right size. What a great way to end a day out. This is another one of those places which are merely decent. They do serve a purpose in some ways, and at least the coffee here is a-okay, and the sweets are not too bad. Having that happy hour deal was a-steal to me. Coffee Guru works well enough in how it has found an equation. This is not quite for the coffee snobs, though the coffee would still be decent enough for them, it is more for a general audience.

Holy dooly! if they can make it polite to press past beryl, glennys and patsy with their morning tea; frames and handbags near, they 'll discover the most incredible Italian sweets. cookies, baked, nuts and chocolate. Forget the coffee and cabinet dishes, you don't need them. the sugary beer is where it is.
